Mission Statement of the Department of Electronic Engineering.
The department of Electronic engineering believes to produce practical environment in connection with theoretical background knowledge for the highest class education and research. Our objective is to provide Graduate and Postgraduate with technical excellence education and produce high quality engineers with:
        • Strong foundation to face the current challenges of current market.
        • Equipped with technological breakthrough knowledge and skills that can lead students to pursue better carrier and higher education.
        • Periodically curriculum revision to enhance the quality education, supported with state of art laboratories, best teaching methodologies and dedicated faculty.
        • Promote high level morals, dignity and ethical practice to their profession.
  Objectives of the Program:     
        1. We trend our Graduating Students to utilize the capacity hypothetical standards, numerical procedures and logical strategies to foresee and break down the execution of electronic technology and also design as per specifications. Graduates will have the capacity to viably convey their thoughts in both written and oral shape understanding that correspondence is an satisfying method.
        1. Our Graduating Students will be capable to exercise electrical engineering concepts, and computer knowledge to identify and resolve the problems may occur in Electronic system, further he can models, controls and design the new systems and networks in disciplined uniformed groups.

Students will have the capacity to work and manage the different fields of Electronics, and projects with faculty. The capacities to utilize extend administration instruments and procedures, in addition figure out and measure landmark and desirable. Graduating Students will also have firm records expertise and will have the capacity to know when data is required, how to utilize it, and how and where to recover it.

  The objectives of the program were extracted from the mentioned above mission carefully, emphasis the University’s operation of the objects into sensible veracity in the field of teaching, research and market demands. Program objectives are determined to guide the technical knowledge as well as make students moral and ethical responsible. Sir Syed University offers complete independence to acquire knowledge in the field of their preferences to achieve their goals and fulfill the responsibilities.
The Electronic Engineering provides a broad education and training in Electronics with the combination of different courses in different semesters. The department of Electronic Engineering believes to produce practical environment in connection with theoretical background knowledge for the highest class education and research. The Curriculum comprises of 40 courses (core and elective courses). This four-year programme provides knowledge about different modules like controllers, controls systems, semiconductor devices, analog and digital circuits, circuit designing, automation, signals and systems, machines, electromagnetic theory, digital signal processing, network analysis etc… This course also provides the fundamental and sufficient information of the courses related to electrical, computers & programming, networking and communication. Our courses will involve you in all aspects of designing modern electronics systems, from theoretical aspects to the hardware and software that enable so much of the technology we have today. The aim of the undergraduate courses of Electronic Engineering is to teach and prepare the students to capitulate engineers and researchers of the next generation for their advanced core fields of electronics. Electronic Engineering is intriguing, interesting, stimulating field provide great scientific and technological progress, creating tools and playing an important role to advance our society and our life. Due to analytical, exploratory and systematic thinking Electronic Engineers can address various issues, creates innovative solutions and find new ways to do things. In each semester there are one or more group projects to develop designing and team working skills. The final year group project allows you to in-depth understanding a topic of your choice, implements new ideas or provides new solutions by using creative skills.

Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is recognized professional engineering university which provides opportunity to the engineering students to develop their engineering skills. Our university is famous because of their good teaching staff and lab facilities and their creative final year projects. Our students won lots of prizes in final year projects exhibitions and designing competitions. Our university maintains all the standards and module syllabus which is approved by HEC (higher education commission) and PEC (Pakistan engineering council). Our excellent teaching and lab facilities include foreign qualified teachers at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, our informatics technical labs which fully equipped with all the required lattes equipments and computers. Our university teachers have won best teacher’s award by HEC. In other facilities include a dedicated lab for final year students. Student can independently study in a library which is fully equipped with all lattes books on different engineering subjects, fully internet access. We also have innovative research facilities and provide access to any conference paper or general papers. We also have an excellent sports facilities and university sponsor the students to take part in different sports competitions like Hockey, Football etc…. Finally, geographically our university lies in an area which is center of Karachi city that’s why for each student easy to reach the university.
Practical Work
The electronic engineering undergraduate has opportunity of wide range of state-of-art laboratories throughout the four years of studies. They are encouraged to hands on in each and every technical and applied sciences courses, for which we developed different laboratories, where students are taught to enhance their practical experience with analysis techniques, Logic design, computer courses, embedded electronic, Designing tools, Industrial Automation & Control Systems, Signal processing with balanced knowledge of theory in lectures. The Students are supposed to implement theoretical knowledge in laboratories practically with the modernized equipment available.

Assessment Criteria and Learning Facilities.
Learning and Teaching:- It includes lectures and laboratory sessions. In lectures teachers will give you lecture on modules and you will learn theoretical aspects. In laboratory session you will practically implement the theories which you learned in lecture sessions and deal with different practical issues. Student will spend 25 to 30 hours per week in lectures and lab sessions. Each student assigns a student advisor for student counseling, and other student related issues such as attendance issues, fees issues, student and teacher interaction issues and any academic related issues.
Independent Study:- Other than lectures and lab times there is additional time allocated to the students for the independent study. An individual study time you could be spent for completing lab reports, revising lectures etc…
Research Library:- In Electronic Department there is Research Library in which all research facilities are available like computers, internet access and different engineering books. So in extra timings students can do their research work and especially final year students can do all the research work related to their final year projects.

Assessment:- Assessment of all the modules through the combination of class performance and final examination. 50 percent marks depend on class performance which includes class assignments, individual or group projects, quizzes, lab performance and 50 percent marks depend on final exam. In final year a supervisor is assign who will guide you in your project work, meet you regularly and advise you on both academic content and project management issues. Final year project normally assessed through a combination of written report, practical demonstration and oral examination.
