| Systems Application Lab |
The SYSTEM APPLICATIONS LABORATORY is the only hardware-oriented lab of the department of computer Engineering. This is the only lab in the department in which PCs can be opened and students can interface their cards / devices for hand-on experiments. The lab is utilized in the subjects of ROBOTICS in (7 th semester) and Microprocessor based systems design in (4 th semester).
The lab is equipped with more than a dozen of Personal Computers for use by the students. The PCs are equipped with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 98 and Windows NT).
For the proper conduction of labs of the ROBOTICS course, the lab is also equipped with Model Robotics Kits . The kits (six in number) can be interfaced to the PCs so that a robot may be operated fully through a PC. In addition, relevant interfacing through parallel port and serial port also taught to the students. They are also assigned small projects, to be completed within 2-3 weeks. For this they are free to use any of the PC of this lab.
In the course of MICROPROCESSOR BASED SYSTEMS DESIGN , the students have to design a single board computer by themselves, and have to learn relevant low-level assembly language programming. For this, the necessary softwares (assemblers and compliers) are made available in every single workstation's hard disk.
The necessary tools needed to build SBC and interfacing projects are also available in the lab. They include a device programmer, an EPROM Eraser, a digital trainer and a host of supporting tools like soldering iron with stand, digital multi-testers, a digital trainer, oscilloscope, logic probes, wire cutters/strippers, screw-driver set etc.

| Network Security Lab |
As the Sir Syed University is established as the center of excellence, Network Security Lab of SSUET is also considered as the sign of prestige in all-educational institution of Pakistan . The design and infrastructure of SSUET Network Security lab is similar to the CISCO Systems Standard. Students of SSUET don't need to do short courses and training of CISCO from the out side. The curriculum of the Network security laboratory includes basic and advance courses of Network and Security by using CISCO equipments. Network Security lab contains a verity of high performance Routers, Switches and Pix Firewall, such as 2500, 2600, 3600, 4000 series of Routers, AS5200 series Access Servers, including 1900, 2900, 3000 and 5500 series catalyst switch with ATM functionality also CISCO 506 PIX Firewall. Through these facilities SSUET provide updated knowledge and training to students according to the latest research of Network Telecommunication sectors.
